Hebrews 10

The Full Assurance of Faith

19 Therefore, brothers,

[c] since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus,

20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain,

that is, through his flesh,

21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,

with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience

and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,

for he who promised is faithful.

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,

but encouraging one another,

and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Christ's Sacrifice Once for All

Hebrews 10

Christ's Sacrifice Once for All

10 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come

instead of the true form of these realities,

it can never,

by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year,

make perfect those who draw near.
2 Otherwise,
would they not have ceased to be offered,

since the worshipers,

having once been cleansed,

would no longer have any consciousness of sins?
3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Consequently,
when Christ[a] came into the world, he said,
“Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired,

but a body have you prepared for me;

6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings

you have taken no pleasure.

7 Then I said,
‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,

as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”
8 When he said above,

“You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices
and offerings

and burnt offerings

and sin offerings”

(these are offered according to the law),

9 then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.”
He does away with the first in order to establish the second.
10 And by that will we have been sanctified

through the offering of the body

of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest stands daily at his service,

offering repeatedly the same sacrifices,

which can never take away sins.
12 But when Christ[b] had offered for all time

 a single sacrifice for sins,

he sat down at the right hand of God,

13 waiting from that time until his enemies

should be made a footstool for his feet.
14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them

after those days,

declares the Lord:

I will put my laws on their hearts,

and write them on their minds,”
17 then he adds,
“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Psalm 119:33-42

Psalm 119:33-42

33 Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees,

that I may follow it to the end.[a]

34 Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law

and obey it with all my heart.
35 Direct me in the path of your commands,

for there I find delight.

36 Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.

37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;

preserve my life according to your word.[b]

38 Fulfill your promise to your servant,

so that you may be feared.

39 Take away the disgrace I dread,
for your laws are good.

40 How I long for your precepts!

In your righteousness preserve my life.

41 May your unfailing love come to me,

your salvation, according to your promise;

42 then I can answer anyone who taunts me,

for I trust in your word.

New Year's Eve 2012 & Damo's 40th Birthday Party

Damo had an 'extra' special birthday this year...
any birthday with a '0' on the end seems to require a  major celebration!
He really wasn't very keen - he does not like being the center of attention!
But you can't get a spit for your birthday and not have a party!
I mean a family of 3 can't eat a whole pig!!
But if you tell people that its a New Year's Eve party it might just be OK
- as long as there are no speeches, no cakes, no photos!!
The 'Pig'
Pretty Nicely done!

You could not have asked for better friends to come from a long way away!
We were so thankful to have our greatest friends Mark & Susan and Uncle Mick & Aunt Merry & family come and help celebrate - not just celebrate but being such a great help setting up and cleaning up!

One best friend managed to sneak in a birthday cake - a 'fire chief' cake!
We even had a 'speech that's not a speech'

A big thank to everyone for coming and helping us celebrate!
See you next year.....

Cubby House Creation for JB's 3rd Birthday (20 November 2012)

During last year we had a kind offer of a cubby house
that a local family (good friends of ours) children had grown out of.
We were really excited to take on this -
 JB's birthday was coming quickly
and we wanted to get him something for outside fun
without spending a whole lot of money.
One lazy Sunday afternoon we decided to take a drive out and pick it up
- it was way bigger than we expected!

When Pete makes something it certainly isn't by half!
It was a challenge to try and work out how we were going to get it onto a trailer
to get it the few km's home.
But the boys being creative
managed to get it on without too much damage.

An overworked & tired Damo taking off the lovely pink cladding!

My big & strong nearly 3 year old helper!

Replacing cladding & roof with tin

Fitted in just like it has always been part of the garden

Feel WELCOME to drop in
for a play,
a cuppa
or a boiled egg (table tennis balls make excellent eggs!!)

Its been a long time since I've had the opportunity to get on here and up date
- I can't believe it has been 8 months!!!
Everyone who reads this must have got thoroughly sick of waiting to see what was happening around here :)
So since I have had a "holiday from blogging, I thought I would show you what we got up to on our holidays this year.

We always go to Kiama. ALWAYS.

It's interesting isn't it? We are such creatures of habit!
We even stay on the same site.
But not this year.

Some of you may remember our last years holiday where we were basically flooded out?
Well this year we decided not to risk that and we moved sites to closer to the beach.
We packed up and went down to stay with my mum and dad for a few days before going up to Kiama.
It was nice to just stop after packing up, before trying to set up the annexe etc.
It's so good to be able to go away with our grown up girl Annette - she is such a blessing to us!
Damo JB & Annette
We missed the big low, caused by the cyclone up in QLD, but boy the surf was rough!
I've never seen it so dangerous in our usual quiet safe beach.
It was too dangerous to swim
but it was awesome to watch the power of the waves moving the sand.
Smaller surf than what it had been but still too dangerous to swim in

JB & Damo watching the massive surf
We went to Sydney twice during our 3 week stint - TWICE! (by the way I HATE Sydney).
It was good to watch JB learn about  lots of people, trains, ferries, buses.
Train from Kiama  to Sydney
Sydney Ferries
Fish and Chips @ Darling Harbour
We tripped around the aquarium - such an impressive place! JB lied on the edged of the big tanks and watched the sharks and big fish swim right over top of him :)

Madam Toussards was awesome too - very clever and so realistic! It was interesting to stand next to these wax statues of famous people - see how tall they really are.
The Queen
We had a lot of fun fishing on the days that were not much good for swimming.

JB's fish

Lots of walking too! We took JB on a huge walk - up & down lots of hills about 6kms.

The Little Blow hole

We did do a fair bit of swimming - JB learnt to swim on his own (with his vest) he was so excited!! and he is so much more grown up.
Damo went out fishing a few times on his own and even came home with a lobster!

All too soon we had to go home - can't believe how fast 3 weeks can go.
Now to wait for next year......

and yes we have a different site again!!

maybe, just maybe in a few years time we might be able to go somewhere else!

But why would you when you have found the ideal place to relax and recharge?
